Men's Ministry

We would like to invite the men of the church to participate in a special Bible Study.  We meet on the first Monday of each month, and our next meeting will be on Monday, September 7th, at the home of Pastor Dale at 6:30 pm.  We will begin our time together with dinner and fellowship and then get into the study. We are currently studying what the word has to say about men and their place as spiritual leaders in the home, from Jack Hayford’s book on ‘The Principles of Spiritual Leadership’.  Please plan on attending; we would love to see you there!

We will be meeting on Thursday, September 24th, and we will begin at 6:30 pm with dinner and fellowship before we get into our study. The location will be at the home of Christina Rojas (5780 Blossom Ct, Phelan, 868-3935).  All those who would like to car-pool to the location, please meet at McDonalds at 6:15 pm.  If you have any questions, please call the church office or ask Pastor Cynthia.

Children's Ministries

Teaching and encouraging our children in the grace and admonition of the Lord is our Biblical responsibility.  No matter if you have young children, or are single and don’t have any children at this time, your place as an example and Leader to our children is needed.  We are looking for helpers in our church nursery and Christian Education departments.  If you can volunteer one Sunday every Quarter (3 months) to sit in the nursery or aid in the teaching of our Christian Education classes, please contact Melissa Escarzaga for more information.

Youth Group

Attention all youth: Come and join us on Sunday nights, September 6th, 20th, and 27th; as we study God’s Word and have a great time of fellowship together.  We meet at the pastors’ home: 13945 Matero Ct; (868-0976) at 5pm.  For more information contact Cynthia.

Community Outreach

Our next outreach to the needy of our community is September 28th, at the Phelan Community Center on Sheep Creek Road in Phelan.  The Bible tells us in Galatians 2:10 to remember the poor and observe their need.  Each month on the 4th Monday evening, we join with the New Life Church of the Nazarene and Evergreen Lutheran in reaching out to those who are in need here in our area, and we invite you to participate in this opportunity.   If you would like to help out at our next outreach, a sign-up sheet can be found on the information table in the back of the church.  Thank you for making a difference in your world!

Homebuilder's Series

We will be continuing in our study this month on the second and fourth Tuesday, September 8th & 22nd, at 7pm at the home of Jeff and Lorraine. The study is The Five Love Languages by Dr. Gary Chapmen. We want to encourage all couples to consider this class to strengthen and refresh their commitment in marriage. Our best defense against the work of the adversary is to protect the family through strong Christian marriages. Jeff and Lorraine Graham will be leading this study. Holy Spirit Bible Study

We have started, but it is not too late for you to join us on Sunday Nights at the home of Sister June Nichols.  The study will begin at 5pm and conclude about 6:30pm.  This study will be using the ‘Word For Today Study Guide’ written and published by Rev Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa.

This is a 25 chapter study beginning with the introduction of who the Holy Spirit is and His ministry and purpose.  We will also look at the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer, from teacher and comforter to the power that He releases in the work of God’s children.  We will look at the Fruit of the Spirit and what God expects of His followers in character development and integrity.  Finally, we will conclude this study by studying the Gifts of the Spirit, there place and purpose in the church, and how the Holy Spirit manifests His grace in gifting.

The Bible teaches us that as Christ’s disciples, we must study to show ourselves approved of the Lord, (2 Timothy 2:15), and that we must learn to live by faith.  Here again the Bible teaches us that Faith comes by hearing and that hearing is from the Word of God, (Romans 10:17).  We encourage you to consider whether God is speaking to you about a study like this and plan to join us.

Deaconess Ministry

We have an outstanding group of women who serve faithfully as our Deaconess.  Thy make sure that we have coffee each Sunday, clean up afterwards, and plan & prepare Church fellowships and dinners.  Their desire is to serve this body in meeting the needs of our times of coming together for fellowship, such as the Mother Daughter Luncheon & the yard sale they had.  We appreciate their faithful service to this body and if you would like to join this wonderful group, (we meet on the 2nd Sunday of every month, after church) please see Christina Carrillo.

Sonshine Ministries

We are a small ministry with a big heart.  We prefer helping small, local Christian ministries by providing tangible items or financial gifts.  Our desire is to help God’s people with their basic needs so they will be open to His loving care for their spiritual needs.  Sunshine is our church’s Home Missions Project, reaching out to those in our local community with the love of Jesus Christ. As in all Missions programs, we need your support both prayerfully and financially. You have the opportunity to help us out in reaching these organizations by giving and praying for Sonshine Ministry.

If you would like to help us by giving any of the extra supplies, please give them to Sharon Metzmeier at 760) 868-3782. “Do not withhold from those to whom it is do when it is in the power of your hand to do so.” Proverbs 3:27
